My Morning Routines as a University Student

1. Wake Up Early
Well, waking up early is so important in order to have a productive morning routine, but it is not easy. Even though snoozing in bed for those couple more minutes seems very tempting, I promise you, you will regret it. In the end, it will make you feel more sleepy, tired and poorly rested. Of course, not the way you want to start your morning routine ! Instead, try to slowly wake up a bit earlier every new morning. Even it is just 5 minutes. This way, you can train your body to naturally wake up way earlier in the morning. I like to wake up between 6.00 and 7.30  AM. I definitely don't consider myself a morning person, but I LOVE the fact that if you wake up early, you have so much more time left of your day. it feels great whenever you already did a bit of reading or summarizing before it is even 9 AM. This is why I highly recommend waking up early. If I can do it, yes you can do it too !

2. Do Not Skip Breakfast
Since I live at dorm, I always breakfast at restaurants nearby. I booked an Uber car and go breakfast with my friends or sometimes by myself. At the restaurant, I  love to order a green breakfast smoothie or bread toast with eggs or if I wanted to go for heavy breakfast, I'll order Curry Laksa or Roti Sardine or any other local food. But make sure you have a strong stomach or else just eat light food such as cereal, fresh fruits or oats. I also love to drink lemon or lime infused water during my mornings to give myself that hydration boost. Even if you have your class at 8 AM or 9 AM till 11 AM just please, after class just find a cafe to eat and eat your brunch. Or you can bring some snacks as chocolate cookies, sandwiches inside your bag. It is very important not to skip breakfast.

3. Have a Me-Time Moment
This maybe sounds a bit funny, giving yourself some me-time during those hectic weekday morning? But I strongly feel that if you really nail your morning routine, you will have time to incorporate some me-time in it. I strongly believe in the power of self care in order to make yourself feel and do better. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't have to take you a lot of time, because even a couple of minutes can be very effective to get your day with a positive and lovely mindset. Think about writing a short entry in your diary or taking the time to put your favorite lipstick, or do a sheet mask routines while talks or sing in front of the mirror or hair routines. These little things that can really make you feel empowered and in control. To me, that's what a me time moment. These little things I've done at a me time moment gave a positive vibes everyday.

4. Make a Schedule
Any successful morning routine will start with some time dedicated to create a plan or schedule. I am a big believer in the power of planning, because setting goals for yourself is the first step to actually achieving them. It's perfect to organize my study tasks for the day and for the rest of the week. Just set goals that you want to achieve today for example you might want to have some reading in the morning, and maybe you want to go for Chinese food today for lunch or you might have a meeting to go for your assignment group task at evening or maybe after that you need to send an E-mail to your Professor, might want to discuss over something or schedule an appointment the next day with the Professor, or maybe at night you have a dinner you attend with your long lost friend or after that might to some laundry or Face time with your beloved family. You must plan your productive schedule inside your phone or journal or planner if you want to stay organized and successful.

5. Get Some Studying Done
Sneaking in some study time in the morning can be difficult, especially if you feel extremely tired from the study night before. However, it's better to spend at least some studying and reviewing materials than completely relying on your knowledge from the day before. Even if it's only 15 minutes, it's better to have looked over your material at least once before the lecture than none. If you have class at morning, don't worry, you can still get some time studying or reading inside the bus or train. It's 2017, everyone have their own smartphone inside their bag. So swipe that smartphone's screen of yours and use the web browser such as Google Scholar to have some readings. Every second is  precious. Spend it well by doing something smart.

I hope these tips for creating an effective morning routine were helpful ! Creating that perfect morning routine definitely takes time but it is also worth it.
